. . Confessions of a Wandering Mind... .
. a different sort of irony
11.04.03 - 6:20 a.m.

It's really early, and I'm hungry, and I don't feel like going to early bird.

hmm...

so.... took the car in for an estimate today... $1800... still don't know whose insurance is going to end up covering it... probably mine, since there weren't any witnesses.

grr.

yesterday was an okay day. very monday-ish.

mourning the pixie stix lost.

hmm...

gotta love roro's taste in music... I've been listening to that CD a lot in the past few days... yay!

So... bowling green is doing this study thing w/ west high, for some reason... well, west, city, and some place up near waverly... *blinks*

makes a lot of sense, considering that they're from indiana.... of course...

so, they're doing this music study to see if they can draw a correlation between musical ability and math/reading skills...

we already took a group of tests last week... some spatial stuff, looking at pictures of cubes and saying if they could be the same one, rotating pictures... fun.

not really.

they only give you 3 minutes per test.

I didn't finish the first one, but that's okay.

there was also this audio test... on CD... they play this passage of music (not short, but not really long, either) once, and then they play it again w/ something changed... you had to say whether it was tonally different, rhythmically different, or the same... 30 questions... exciting, no?

it wasn't very fun. but when I went in for my sight reading test today, the lady/dr/person asked me if I thought that test was easy... and I said it wasn't bad and asked why... and she claims that apparently I'm in the 97th percentile of everyone in the world...

damn.

yay.

not that I need the reassurance, but it's just one more thing that tells me going into music would be my best choice...

*grin*

hehe.

yeah. that's just cool.

So... apparently my grade in chemistry SUCKS now, but she curves all of the grades at the end of the tri, or something... also, we have more hw in the next two weeks than we've had in the last 10, which I guess will be good. for my grade, anyway.

car will be fixed eventually.

not that I will be able to drive it when it IS fixed.

Guess who got rearended yesterday...

haha, my dad.

I've been laughing at him for his whole little "no matter who they think is at fault, there's always something you could've done to prevent it" talk... today he just came home, looked at me, and said "the irony is killing me."

I laughed.

and then I realized that the irony was bad for me too, because it means that once my car gets out of the shop (it will go TO the shop at the end of this week, btw), my dad will be the one driving it until the truck gets fixed up.

christ, that guy must've hit him hard. the truck I hit had no damage... on dad's truck, the bumper isn't really crushed, it's just bent down at like a 45 degree angle... but still. trucks are solid.

he has a little whiplash, but he claims he's okay... I suppose I have no choice but to believe him.

the guy that hit him... didn't slow down, didn't want to call the police. told my dad to follow him to his house, because he had a relativethat could fix the truck and they didn't need to get the cops involved.

Umm. Dad called the cops anyway.

the guy didn't have a liscense, no insurance, was apparently completely at fault, and... didn't speak english well, and apparently needed a translator.

*blink*

yeah, this is about a quarter of a mile away from where max slammed on the brakes.

and I drive through the area every day.

somebody in coralville doesn't like me...
